On what server should I place my secure eCommerce application?

Our choice is Lightlink. Homer Smith at Lightlink began with a solid plan that included good hardware, good software, a firm grasp of the technology at the time, the flexibility to maintain that position and the will to so. Today Lightlink is a solid, reliable server on which to keep your data and software. Lightlink runs Unix servers with the capability to serve secure pages and process the resulting data reliably. Because the management team at Lightlink are diligent you can relax.

Must my Web page be on the same server as the secure application?

No. Your Web page can be on any computer in the world and call to a secure connection to your account on Lightlink. You certainly can have your Web page in the same Lightlink account that serves your secure applications however.

Will my Lightlink account cost more?

No. You will continue to pay your monthly or annual ISP account charges as you do now. The eCommerce software will live and run in the account you already have.

Will my eCommerce software be shared by others?

The Dagra applications will be installed within your own account on Lightlink. The same programs may be installed for others as well but your system will only access your own private copy.

Do you own Lightlink?

No. Dagra Software has an account and domain at Lightlink just like yours. We have been on Lightlink since 1995. If you are not already a Lightlinker we think you should be.

Do I have to pay you every month?

No. We charge you for our programs and for the work that we do for you. When you need more work done there will be a charge at that time. There is no use charge.

What about support?

We support the software that we write and sell PERIOD. You are free to call us with questions or problems at any time. If no one is available at the moment you call we will call you back as soon as we get your message. We collect our email often and you can reach us through our Web page at dagra.com.

How do I get orders from my customers?

The system automatically sends you an email message that is clearly marked ORDER in the subject field. The email message contains the field names from your Internet form and the data your customer placed into those fields.

If I offer 20 products on my form will the email be confusing?

No. Only the fields that have data are transmitted in the order. Therefore if your customer ordered 3 items you will only see the fields associated with those items, usually quantity, description, total cost and perhaps color/size choices.

Do I have to design my Web site a special way?

No. In the plan we mention listing, description and form, these are guidelines but the Web site is all standard HTML. You can use any HTML authoring tool or hand code the files yourself with a text editor if you like.

Do I need to create my Web page all over from scratch?

No. Your on-line offering can be added to your site as a special section or blended right in to your present HTML.

If I want to add a shopping cart later must I start over?

No. The Dagra software system is expandable. In fact we can provide a custom solution that includes a shopping cart, on-line inventory and the programs to maintain your site and system.
