     SPAM AND DOMAIN MAIL FORWARDING

Much spam is sent not to the lightlink address of a domain holder
but to their domain name itself. If you have a domain like
artmatrix.com, then mail to anyone@artmatrix.com will be forwarded to
the domain owner unless other wise directed.

There is nothing we can do about spammers knowing about your
domains as they are public by definition, however each domain has a
domain forwarding file which specifies where domain mail is supposed
to be forwarded. You can edit this file yourself by going to
http://www.lightlink.com -> USER AREA -> Sign in with your domain and
lightlink password -> DOMAIN MAIL FORWARDING.

Make *SURE* you use *DOMAIN* mail forwarding!

In the simplest case the file has one line that says something
like

artmatrix.com homer@lightlink.com

This is the default line that says any mail to artmatrix.com that
is not otherwise specified should go to homer@lightlink.com. Then if
you want mail to sales@artmatrix.com to go to jes@lightlink.com
instead, you would ALSO add in

artmatrix.com homer@lightlink.com
sales@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com

If you don't want a catchall address, leave out the first line.

sales@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com

The disadvantage of this is if someone misspells one of the
correct addresses, then the mail will bounce rather than going to the
default mail box. Since we do not keep copies of mail that come
through our system, once it is lost, its gone for good, and you won't
even know it happened.

Thus you might want to put in common misspellings for names:

jane.staller@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com
jane.stoller@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com
jstaller@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com
janes@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com
staller@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com
stoller@artmatrix.com jes@lightlink.com

e-mail addresses may NOT use spaces but may use periods, dashes
and underlines, but nothing else.

jane-staller@artmatrix.com is valid.
